Overall Goals and Objectives The International Institute of Judaic Law (IIJL) will provide a leading
role as a vital and vocal center for the study of Judaic law as it
pertains to issues facing contemporary society. To that end, IIJL mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research with the
following goals and purposes.
Serve
the broader North American and international legal
community—judges, law professors, academicians, and
lawyers—and respond to inquiries concerning the
perspective of Jewish law on any topic submitted.
IIJL will accept and address appropriate inquiries from the general
public.
Docketed Cases
Develop articles and essays
addressing from the perspective of Jewish law
questions and issues that are on the dockets of the
United States Supreme Court, the International Court
of Justice at the Hague, the International Criminal
Court, United States federal circuit courts of
appeal, state supreme courts, and other national
appellate courts throughout the world. This includes
submitting amicus curiae briefs in appropriate
cases.
We invite readers to apprise us of
these issues as they become aware of them so that we
may address them in a timely fashion.
Contemporary
Issues
Address the issues of the
day confronting the national and international
body politic from the perspective of the
fundamental underpinnings and worldview of
Jewish law and Jewish philosophy.
